Poing, Germany. On July 2, 2025, the LKQ DACH Logistics Center Sulzbach-Rosenberg celebrated not only its 30th anniversary but also the inauguration of its new, highly efficient shuttle warehouse. LKQ DACH is the largest region of LKQ Europe, the leading player in the European automotive parts wholesale market. With the expansion of the logistics center, the region – which includes LKQ STAHLGRUBER and LKQ PV AUTOMOTIVE – is significantly strengthening its Bavarian logistics hub. The new five-lane shuttle system uses advanced robots to automatically, quickly, and precisely move goods across multiple levels. The expansion adds capacity for around 200,000 additional storage spaces.
In total, the Sulzbach-Rosenberg logistics center now covers approximately 120,000 square meters and houses around 200,000 items in the categories of automotive spare parts, accessories, workshop equipment, and tools. It is one of the most powerful logistics centers in Europe and a key driver of employment for the region.
Sustainable investment in infrastructure
“With the investment in the Sulzbach-Rosenberg logistics center, we have sent a clear signal about the site’s future viability and have sustainably expanded and strengthened our infrastructure. As one of the leading wholesalers for automotive parts, we see ourselves not only as a reliable partner for our customers but also as a major employer with responsibility for the region,” says Michael Schuster, CEO of LKQ DACH.
With the expansion of the Sulzbach-Rosenberg logistics center, LKQ DACH is also strengthening its international infrastructure: the Austrian and Swiss markets are now even better connected through the wide-reaching logistics network. “The expansion of the warehouse infrastructure optimizes performance and service quality for our customers across the entire DACH region,” says Friedhelm Glormann, COO of LKQ DACH. “By increasing the level of automation, we are also positioning ourselves competitively for the future.”
In addition to the expansion of the Sulzbach-Rosenberg site with the highly efficient shuttle system, LKQ DACH has recently pursued another major project: last year, the logistics network in Bielefeld was significantly expanded with an innovative logistics center featuring a modern AutoStore concept. Together with the Sulzbach-Rosenberg logistics hub, the Bielefeld center ensures reliable customer supply for LKQ DACH – from Flensburg to Graz and Geneva.
